here are my jew questions about hunter (although, as a potential english major, i will --hopefully-- be phrasing them correctly)(you will also notice that too many of these are food-based questions... well, i am a jew, what can i say?):
1. is there a kosher caf?
2. where do you go for meals on shabbas? does chabad provide meals? does hillel provide meals?
3. how can you get placed with another religious jew in the dorms (assuming youre
4. how far is the dorm from the main campus?
5. what do you think of school?
6. (if chabad and hillel offer meals n such) how close is are they to the dorm?
7. if they don't offer meals, what do you do for meals?
8. (if you stay in the dorm for shabbas) are there stairs or a shabbas elevator?
9. how many floors in the dorm?
10. are any of you doing the english BA/MA 4-year accelerated thingy? and if so, do you enjoy it, etc?
11. do you have to have a certain SAT score to get into hunter?
12. certain GPA to get into hunter?
13. any transfer students? and if so, did most of your credits transfer?
14. what made you pick hunter?

ok, that's it for now... i'm sure i'll think of more later... if it wouldn't be too much of a problem, do you think you could email me the answers at indiejew@gmail.com ? thanks :-)

OMG!!! This is awesome.

" Eleven students at Hunter College allegedly "sport ideological mohawks" and contribute to the "Punks of Zion" blog. "We are the X Games and [traditional Jewish practices] are the Olympics," said blogger Dina "Punk of Rock" Pirutinsky. The blog covers the full gamut of Jewish life at Hunter, ranging from Scrabble games at Hillel to Orthodox sex roles. "

Our Queen of Chulent and the Punks got a shot out in the media. This is so cool, especially for me, considering I'm an honorary Jew.

about kosher food at hunter, there is a small section in the cafeteria that is kosher. it has sandwiches, salads, and lasanga. there are a few vegeterrian selections.

most of us that want kosher food got to eateries off campus to eat.

some students bring their own food due to the fact that buying food outside and the cafeteria on a regular basis can be a bit pricey.

I usually bring in some kosher food/snacks to share with
everyone. I'm an emeritus officer of one the the sudent organization. I bring in kosher food so those that keep kosher won't be left out.

Oops! I made a boo-boo. Thanks for correcting me.

The Queen of Chulent, The Raging Bull, and the Punks got a shot out thanks to the fearless pair affectionally known as Randina.
